Ryan talks about his experience in the Student-led Physio Service from the University of Salford


Ryan has finished his 6-week placement at the Student-Led Physiotherapy Service at the University of Salford, Manchester.


This unique experience gives Physiotherapy students a chance to apply the theory they learn in the classroom to real life patients under the supervision of their Lecturer in Physiotherapy, Dale Walker.




The clinic returns on Wednesday afternoon the 2nd of February, 2022.

The Student-Led Physio Service is Back!


The Student-Led Physiotherapy Service from the University of Salford was back this week.

The clinic was packed as we returned from a well-earned Summer break.

New students from the University of Salford, Frank and Ryan, on the undergraduate Physiotherapy programme started this additional placement last week.

We are in the Brian Blatchford Building at the University of Salford, Frederick Road, M6 6PU.




We do this by providing Physiotherapy for ONLY £10.

This makes us the most affordable Physio in Manchester.

Will describes his placement at the University of Salford Student-led clinic

 


Will is a second year Physio student at the University of Salford.

As part of his clinical experience he completed a 6-week placement at the Student-Led Physio Service at the University of Salford in the Brian Blatchford Building.

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy - University of Salford - Social Media Takeover


 

This was the CSP Social Media Takeover for the Physiotherapy Students at the University of Salford, Manchester, UK.


We had some of our amazing students show off their digital skills on multiple media platforms, with all things from placement advice to exam study skills.



Archie and Emma were running the clinic under the guidance of their Physiotherapy Lecturer and Mentor Dale Walker.



The Student-led Physiotherapy Service allows students to gain valuable experience with real life patients. 


Applying theory from the classroom into authentic practice all within the framework of the University of Salford.

Rory describes his expereince at the MIHP

               


Rory is a Sports Rehabilitation student at the University of Salford.

As part of his clinical experience he has completed a six week placement at the MIHP.

He has been working with Boxers, Climbers and Military personnel. 

He has really increased his confidence outside the classroom, performing manual handling skills and spinal mobilisation techniques.

The University of Salford Therapy department now have a service that is run by students as part of their learning experience as they translate theory from the classroom into practical skills with real patients.

Kirsty describes her expereince at the MIHP

                 


Kirsty has just finished a six week placment at the MIHP.

She is a second year student that has just completed the spinal module at the University of Salford.

She has enjoyed putting theory into practice especially with Spinal patients 

Her confidence has really increased throughout the six weeks.

Kirsty has enjoyed using specialist Physio equipment such as massage guns, taping, Compex and Instument Assisted Myofascial Release.


The University of Salford Physiotherapy department now have a service that is run by students as part of their learning experience as they translate theory from the classroom into practical skills with real patients.

Jack describes his expereince at the MIHP

                

Jack is a second year Physiotherapy student.

He has just finished a six week placement at the MIHP

Manchester Institute of Health and Performance 


Jack recommends this experience to increase the confidence for other students wanting to work in the Musculo-Skeletal Out-patients environment.

More hands on experience and devlopment of clinical reasoning for assessment and treatment of patients.

The most affordable Physio in Manchester



February has been a busy month as the Student-Led Physiotherapy Service restarted at the beginning of the month.


A new group of students from the University of Salford will learn how to apply the theory from the class room to real life patients.


Pro Boxer Wycombe King has been with us getting some expert treatment from Dale Walker and the Students as they prepare to get him back in the fight.

Taking bookings from 5th of February.

We return for Wednesday afternoons from 1 - 5 pm.

We remain the most affordable Physio in Manchester at only £10 per session.

We are getting busy! Book NOW to get some Therapy.



Our Student-Led Therapy Service was in full swing again with another packed clinic.


We are lucky enough to have the support of Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy with mnay of their Fighters receiving treatment to keep them tip top for getting in the Ring.


We have a mix of both Physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation Students.

The Clinic Runs ONLY on Wednesday afternoons at the Manchester Institute of Health & Performance, M11 2AZ.
