Azima describes her experience at the MIHP

Azima has just completed her six week Physio placement at the MIHP as part of her learning experience on the BSc Physiotherapy at the University of Salford.

Azima has enjoyed having a full hour with patients in order to assess, treat and manage their musculo-skeletal injuries, under the guidance of their Physio Tutors, Dale Walker and Ray Healy.

“We are able to apply the theory we learned in Uni to real patients with real problems. It’s nice having the support of your class mates as well.”

Aine describes her experience at the MIHP

Aine has just finished her 6 week placement at the MIHP with Physio Tutors Dale Walker and Ray Healy.

This is her feedback below:

"I had a brilliant experience volunteering at the MIHP. During the six weeks my practical and communication skills improved no end, and I also I grew in confidence.

It was great being able to put the theory we learned in University into practice on real patients while also having a lecturer there to support us if we had any problems.

During the six weeks we were also learned how to use some very specialist equipment such as complex which I might never have get the opportunity to use otherwise. I would highly recommend the MIHP to any student looking to improve their skills and knowledge."

Niall describes his work experience at the Student-Led Physio Service

Niall came to shadow us today at the Student-Led Physio Service run from the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP).

Niall is gaining clinical experience in order to apply for the BSc in Physiotherapy.

He was impressed that The University of Salford Physiotherapy department now have a service that is run by students as part of their learning experience as they translate theory from the classroom into practical skills with real patients.

It was Student change over day where seven new students get the opportunity to work at the MIHP for the next 6 weeks, under the guidance of their Physio Tutors, Dale Walker and Ray Healy.
