Despite
only being in their first year, Students from the University of Salford are
already capable of basic diagnosis, treatment and exercise prescription for
real patients.
In their first year of
study the cover peripheral Postural assessment, movement analysis, anatomy and
physiology, electrotherapy, manual therapy, massage, and joint mobilisation.
The
University of Salford Physiotherapy department now have a service that is run
by students as part of their learning experience as they translate theory from
the classroom into practical skills with real patients.
Students get the opportunity
to work at the MIHP for 6 weeks, under the guidance of their Physio
Tutors, Dale Walker and Ray Healy.
